I've been trying to make a simple AI enemy with like 2 simple actions, but I didn't have any success. I am still a novice. I know it's a lot to ask, but could you help me figure this out, if you can, in a private chat, please?
Hi Bob, AI is quite a complex topic, since there are multiple approaches for it (for example I choose to go with behavior trees, which some people think might be a bit more complicated for a beginner, though I like them over the alternative of having a bunch of blueprint actions), so I suggest you check out some of these playlists first - something that I followed when I got started with AI - ua-cam.com/video/DQqhJCoC4bQ/v-deo.html&ab_channel=RyanLaley - ping me on discord to tell me how they worked out for you. Ryan also has tutorials on melee combat as well.
@@AndreiGhenoiu Oh man, this is great, thanks! I ll check them out and ping you on how it worked out
didnt manage to see it live but offline will do! Nice
Awesome! Hope you like it.
I love these videos you're doing awesome!
Many thanks Rob!
Mb for deleting the comment It got too cluttered and didnt think you'd respond, what did you mean by making the 2nd one a child of the first one? the result I got to Is that Pole01 connect to Pole01, Pole02 connects to Pole01 but not Pole02 which makes sense sadly
So if you make the second blueprint as a child of the first, then change the mesh in the second blueprint, you should be able to connect child to parent to child, etc. . To do that, you right click on the parent pole blueprint, and select make child blueprint. Hope this helps.
@@AndreiGhenoiu Ill try that ty but the thing is presumably that only works for 2 poles not more correct?
@@AndreiGhenoiu Sir you are a saint, It worked (for the 5 poles I have) idk what to say Its perfect. Hope someone gets you a nice birthday present.
@@koukaiisanhood8148 awesome ! Really happy you got it working!
nice, make more landscapes pls
Great stream. Good luck with the project :)
Thank you so much for the support!

Thanks so much! really happy you like it.
Your the best
can you do astroneer tether system
that is actually a great idea. Let me see if I can find some time to try and come up with something.
@@AndreiGhenoiu looking forward to it. thanks
Excuse me! Where can i get all asset pack you use in this game ? Thanks
Hi there, I have a combination of assets from the UE marketplace, some from sketch fab, and some I made. If you can join one of the weekend streams I can show you the list of marketplace assets.
@@AndreiGhenoiu thank u so much i will watch your livestream
@@MinhHieuneh my pleasure. As usual should be between 1 pm to 3pm EST. just drop a question in the chat and I'll show you around what I use from what pack.
Your job is very good!
Many thanks!
Please don't ignore the texture streaming warning. It's there for a reason...
Oh definitely not, and I might have been able to mitigate it a bit.
Super fain!
like red redemption or witcher 3 country road
country road
Yo this is dope it reminds of the gta forest at Paleto bay from gta
Thank you so much!
what is your system specs please tell me BTW respect from pakistan 😘

Know that you are helping a lot of people and I am one of them. Thank you
Hello my brother, it has been 3 months since I started working on the engine, and I was a beginner and did not know many things until I found your channel and started following you. Thank you, you have helped me a lot. Can I ask you to explain how I make dirt road materail like rpg games .Most games make road with decals To be smoth with texture like virtual texture .
Thank you so much for the kind words! That means a lot to me. Do you have an example of how the dirt road should look like? Maybe I can look into it and see if I can figure out how to help.
country road
@@AndreiGhenoiu like red redemption or witcher 3 country road
You build perfect maps, but I got an issue with the hang that holds that GPS sort of thing, which seemingly coming from the left side of the screen instead of replicating real life holding such a device like that, take the phone for an example and fix the holding position to current, It looks like someone playing with you and shove his hand to your screen "Look at this!" type of thing.
Thanks so much! And you are totally right, that is a very bad animation and idle as well, and hope to fix that soon and make it more natural
idk why gives me the Arma vive
ooou i so much wanted see you driving the car at the end result scenario :)
Ah thank you! Unfortunately this asset will be a bit static, just as a " you shall not pass" item ;)
@@AndreiGhenoiuwell we can easily with 4 blueprint codepieces make it move and wheels rotate, how God blesses us. ;)

Awesome streams! Is the scatter tool that you use called ia scatter?
Indeed it is :). Great tool! Thanks so much for the kind words and the question!
@@AndreiGhenoiu Thanks! Ima have to get it. Been binge watching your streams lately. Keep up the great work!
@@SkemeKOS awesome! If you have any other questions on the tool, feel free to ask me on discord. The developer's discord is also a really good resource.
It's coming out great. I have a little question: Where did you get the roads? Did you make them yourself?
Thank you so much! If you're asking about the asphalt, yes, made it in quixel mixer. I was thinking about doing a tutorial on it when I get some time.
That's a great idea! I'll be waiting for a tutorial on it.
Buna treaba! Tine-o tot asa!
Merci din suflet!
Do you have a discord server ?
Thanks so much for asking - it's here discord.gg/UgHakCBnSt
btw. ce fel de joc faci?
Merci de intrebare. E un FPS, single player. I will comment in english, so others can read it as well - just a copy-paste from another comment below - You enter the world through a plane that malfunctions and you can jump at 3 different locations. Depending where you jump, the starting missions will be different, but they will come together into one thread. The missions will come from the friendly NPCs in the world, and you will find out what is going on in this place. Some of the areas are taken over by the enemy NPC's so you'll have to use either stealth or weapons to deal with them. Atm only bow, rifle and pistol is what I have implemented. Hope that gives you a short overview, and thanks again for asking.
Nice! I am also tring to learn UG to make my own game too and also get into the gaming industry as well.

Have you experimented with connecting cables using PCG? I’m trying to work out making a post and wire fence using a spline but I’m in way over my head 😬
I have not yet done that. What I have done is use a tool from the marketplace called ia_scatter that also makes use of a spline, and place these poles as a blueprint actor using the tool, and them linking together automatically based on a trace and dot product. I showed it a few times during my weekly streams if you're interested in what I ended up with.
@@AndreiGhenoiu cool which stream episode was it? I’ll check it out
@@peterallely5417 There should be something here ua-cam.com/video/GFchu350FLE/v-deo.html&ab_channel=AndreiGhenoiu, where I am going over some of my process - starting with the beginning of the video. Hope it helps a bit.
The noises omg I’m wearing headphones too

@@AndreiGhenoiu heck no you did a good job it turned out cool also I like your unreal engine videos
@@Maou_yusha20 Thanks so much! Was my first horror-ish attempt. Happy you like the videos!
Amazing game! About the HUD UI, I think putting down the weapon and raising a tablet from the vest would be a nice and smooth solution, something similar to what we see on the ready or not new update. Idk about having the gun ready and mission menu active at the same time, that doesn't feel right to me. Plus if you hide the weapon, it will force the player to be tactical on when to open or not the mission menu. And in case the menu is open and the player is hit you can force the close tablet animation.
Thank you so much! And great suggestion! I have not tried it yet to hide the weapon when pulling up the device. Though the ui can be hidden/unhidden, I am just a bit on the fence with hiding the weapon at gameplay, though I've seen it done in a bunch of games I've player. Let me give it a try and see how it goes, hopefully show it over the weekend.
Also, what I was thinking is also to keep the weapon up if it's a pistol. all others holster
That sounds great, I look forward to your next updates! It is really inspiring me to try UE5 again
@@shinobikun7349 not sure if this notification will reach you before the stream today (starting at 1pm EST), but I got something interesting to show about this :)

@@AndreiGhenoiu please make a short tutorial only how i texture the road mesh nd blend with landscape in unreal engine

Reducing draw calls whenever possible does wonders all the buildings in my city are single merged meshes and I'm running high framerates with full interiors
